The photo opportunities in and around Torrance are abundant. I happen to love the ocean, so Redondo Beach Pier is always on my list of places to snap photos. They have shops, restaurants, fish markets and a great arcade.

Sticking with the water theme, Ports of Call Village in San Pedro is a charming mixture of outdoor snack shacks, shops and wonderful seafood restaurants. The Cabrillo Marine Aquarium is a wonderful hands on experience for children.


The South Coast Botanic Garden on Crenshaw Blvd, is just breathtaking. I can remember taking entire rolls of film there as a teenager. The colors and the variety of flowers are just amazing.


Finally, if you enjoy beautiful churches, visit Wayfarers Chapel. This church is known as the Glass Church as the entire structure is made of glass and stone.
